Summer Blog Challenge day 30

* I skipped a day again, yesterday's prompt was to post a "How To" post but I didn't have time to put one together.

Day 30: Post a picture of an outfit that is your style or you wish was your style

Since I blog primarily from my phone I can't post links at the moment but these came from pinterest and are very much me, braid and all.

4 Months

MV turned FOUR months old on the 26th. FOUR months! He's growing so fast it makes me sad yet happy and excited at the same time.

We postponed his shots and check up until July 16th, I decided I wanted to space them out a little bit. No real reason behind it, I just bumped it back. Which means I will bump again at six months to ensure proper amount of time between boosters.

But anyways onto the stats and pictures from the last month :)

Weight
15 pounds. Not that much of a gain this month, I hope that's ok when we see the doctor. We had a checkup for his ears a couple weeks ago and they weighed him that day at 14.8, scales can be a little different so we'll see.

Length
25 inches, no change there. *** I noticed I put 45 inches in the three month post! Typo! I will go back and change it when I'm on the computer next lol

Hair and Eyes
No changes with his eyes currently light blue with a dark ring; hair is still up for debate if you look at him face on he is blonde, but if you look at him from behind his hair is fairly dark. So depends who you ask lol.

Clothing size
I've packed up a few more things but we haven't gone up in size since last month. Shorts are 3 months (tiny waist), pants and shirts are 0-3 months, full sleepers with feet are six months.

Diapers
Still in size 2's, we did try out the size 3's but they were a little too lose. What we need is an in-between size, something to accommodate giant thighs and a slender waist lol.

Sleep
We've had a couple nights where we get 6 and 8 hours sleep :) but most nights MV is still waking twice a night looking for a snack. I've noticed these night feeds getting shorter so when I get the courage I will try to cut them out, if it was just me I would do it already but hubby needs sleep for work and there will be crying involved I'm sure.

Eating
We are now stretching to three hours between feeds, there is still the occasional two hour stretches but usually I can distract him and hold him off. I feel like this might be helping our night stretches, I hope to stretch to 3 1/2- 4 hours by the end of July.
Bottle strike is still on.

New Developments

We have a visible tooth that just won't break all the way through :( this teething bit really stretches on forever!

Still lots of "talking" to anyone who will listen and respond. If you don't say your share his tone turns frustrated lol it's pretty cute.

He loves story time. We read two books every morning, MV stares at the pictures and chats away :)

He holds onto anything he can like it's his job. Death grip. lol

MV has discovered his tongue, he plays with it all the time, sticking it out and trying to lick things.

Everything is going in his mouth lately.

He is becoming mobile, we haven't had anymore rolls this past month but MV will push off of surfaces (floor, change pad, people, toys etc), this allows him to push himself across the floor of in a circle. I've found him in different spots, and turned around anywhere between 180-360 degrees.

We had a couple laughs in the past couple weeks, it's difficult to make him laugh but when he does it is hilarious. I can't wait for them to be full fledged.

He is very into toys finally, he would stare at them before but now he will sit for extended periods of time holding and chewing them. He loves the exersaucer and is figuring out that when he touches certain ones they make noise.

I hope I haven't forgotten anything, I'm so bad at keeping track of time!

And now time for pictures. :)

Summer Blog Challenge day 28

How do you do your laundry?:

I have no secrets when it comes to laundry.

I buy my detergent at the store, we use purex for me and hubby and baby purex for MV.
I don't trust homemade detergent especially with hubby's construction clothes.
I wish I had a clothes line but hubby and I don't see eye to eye on that one.
I wash everything in cold water.
I mix whites and colours.
I use lest oil for stain removal/prevention it has not failed me yet. Hubby's aunt showed it to me.
I occasionally use oxyclean on sheets and whites.
I have a bottle of bleach but I'm scared to use it.

I do a lot of laundry each week.
2-3 loads for MV
1-2 loads for me
2 loads for hubby ( 1 reg, 1 work gear)
1 load of sheets/blankets
1 load of towels

If you have any tips I'd love to hear them :)

Summer Blog Challenge day 27

Best gift you've ever received:

Honestly I don't know.
I'm pretty exhausted so my brains not working... I tend to ask for more practical ish gifts, like our electric fireplace my mom bought me for Christmas, or how my mom paid for my hair appointment for my birthday .
And hubby and I have always been pretty low key for gift giving...
So...

I suppose I was pretty pumped about my white watch. So that's my answer my watch from mothers day.

Good night!

Summer Blog Challenge days 25 & 26

*again I'm skipping days 23 & 24, I decided to take the weekend off*

Day 25- ideal day of me time:

It's almost hard to even try to think what I would do for me time it's been so long!
I'm just going to list things in point form.
- sleep in, wake on my own no baby crying or alarm clock
- eggs benny for breakfast
- Long hot shower! Wash my hair and shave my legs all at once!
- go to the salon for a mani and pedi
- go get my hair done
- go get a relaxing massage
- spend as long as I want in Chapters picking out a new book or two
- spend the rest of the day reading outside while sipping wine and eating Swiss chalet for dinner yumm.

Day 26 - what does your significant other do that makes your heart melt:

This one is easy, this last month especially I've literally watched him fall head of heels in love with MV. He loved him before of course, but now they both are much more into each other it makes my heart pitter patter to watch them together <3

Recap

Happy Tuesday almost Wednesday :)

So I decided to take a break for a couple of days, the challenge topics for the weekend were not of any interest to me so I thought instead of blogging about something I wasn't into I would just skip it. Plus after almost a month straight of blogging I needed a break :)

Nothing too exciting happened this weekend, it was busy but more so for hubby than me. We did go out for a nice breakfast on Saturday and MV and I accompanied hubby on a side job he was doing in a cousins rental on Sunday.

I'm trying to get MV comfortable with being out for longer periods, we have a reunion in August and unless he accepts a bottle by then he will be out of his element for two long days ... fun for me I'm sure :s

Speaking of MV he is officially four months as of today :) I've noticed/heard of other people going by number of weeks when they track months but we go by the actual date. He was born on the 26th therefore every month on the 26th he is a month older right? I do know a couple other people who do it this way too.

I will post his four month post tomorrow once I get a chance to weigh him :)

I can't believe it is almost July, I'm not sure if the nursery will be done in time for me to join the linky party I really hope I can track down a few final pieces I'm looking for.

I have a few house projects I really want to tackle in July, specifically before the 21st. That's the day of MV's baptism and unless someone else offers their home we will be inviting people back to our place for a BBQ lunch and cake.

Oh we got a Dollar Tree store here in town now. I'm told this is an American store new to Canada. We have our Dollarama but lately the prices there have been creeping higher and higher I did go check out the Dollar Tree tho and I am a little disappointed. I see all these blogs talking about awesome stuff they've bought there but I didn't see anything like any of it. I'm hoping it's because they are new and better stock will come later.

I'd better go write my challenge posts now so I can head off to bed. I'm sure MV will wake soon looking for some boob lol

Summer Blog Challenge day 22

When I grow up I want to be:

I probably wanted to be nearly every profession possible growing up. It changed frequently and being a nurse (my current profession) was never one of them. Funny how that worked out.

The list from what I can remember includes:

Firetruck. My mom loves telling me this, I wanted to be the actual truck...

Real Estate Agent. I remember carrying around my uncles old brief case with the real estate section of the paper inside. I had a notepad, pen and red marker to circle the houses I liked.

Teacher. I think this is standard, almost everyone I knew wanted to be a teacher.

Marine Biologist. Also popular among my friends, this was inspired by my grade two teachers love for whales and showing us Voyage of the Mimi.

House Designer. I later found out this really was an arcitech. I was pretty serious about this one in high school. As a kid I used to draw house plans in great detail (maybe all those real estate papers inspired this)

...

I know there's more but I'm exhausted so I'm giving up. I considered skipping this post all together but stuck it out. Now it's time for bed.

Aunties

MV has a lot of aunties and uncles, between hubby and I he has 13 plus 3 spouses.

Today he finally got to meet two more of those aunties. :)

I have not seen my half sisters in almost two years but today they were passing our town on their way from Ottawa to Barrie and stopped in.

I don't get to see them very often, and in fact I've only met them three times total the first being 4-5 years ago. I would love to see them more but it's complicated.

Here are a few pictures from today :$)

Most recent words of wisdom you heard that stuck with you:

I'm not going to add much to this other than to say I may have been looking to hard for that proud moment the other day (combined with lack of sleep). Thank you for your kind words :)

Summer!

Holy heck it was hot today! Not only hot but humid, yuck.

Summer is here!

Luckily we were prepared, MV and I played out side in the morning in a bit then stayed in and enjoyed the central air until about 4:30ish. By then our new kiddie pool had warmed enough for MV to enjoy it (think bath water lol).
We had a great time and stayed in the pool for 45 minutes, despite the warm water it was still pretty refreshing. The pool is big enough that I can sit in it with extra room between my feet and the edge, and deep enough that if it was full would come up to my chest while sitting.

Does a 16 week old baby need a pool that big? No, but don't tell hubby I bought it for me ;) at $10 it was a great find lol

We do need something to provide us a bit of shade for the pool, I'm torn on using sunscreen since MV is so young and reviews are mixed.

Here are some pics from today, despite his uneasy look he loved the pool :) I hope everyone enjoyed the first day of summer!

Summer Blog Challenge day 19

Something you're proud of from the last few days:

Ok seriously I've been procrastinating writing this post, kinda would like to skip it all together. I'm struggling huge. There must be something I've done I'm proud of right?!

This struggle to write this post is making me realize I need to step it up a notch when it comes to life. I'm stuck in a rut, a busy baby consuming rut but a rut nonetheless. I need out. I need to do something.

So this week I'm tasking myself to develop a plan. Nothing major just enough to not feel like time is passing and wasted. I know the time I'm spending with MV is not a waste but maybe I could improve a little, join a play group, volunteer our company with dementia patients (more on that idea later). I need to give myself opportunity to grow and feel a sense of accomplishment, and even if I could master a way to keep this house tidy and clean I'm not the type of person who is content with just that.

Still trying to think of something I'm proud of...

Summer Blog Challenge day 18

A recipe you love:

Easy.
No question about it.
Nonna's meatballs are my favourite.

Each time I make them they turn out a little different, these are true Italian meatballs, hubby's nonna was born and raised in Italy. The recipe when I got it looked like this:

Ground pork
Ground beef
Ground veal
Parmesan
Bread crumbs
Salt
Eggs

Then the handwriting underneath it said "how much you need"

So... I am far from being a cook, I burn everything and anything, but I have mastered this recipe and they turn out amazing. Nonna's always taste the best tho, I think she held something back from us ;)

In order to make mine I had to get some tips and measurements from a few other family members. I was told 3 eggs per pound of meat, but I've found I start with two and add "as much as I need" lol also the meat, you want majority pork, the ratio is up to you depending on your tastes.

The real secret to the way these turn out is the sauce but that's another recipe:)

Yard Sale!

This Saturday morning I went yard saleing for the first time this summer. I have to say it is so much better when you have a little one to buy for :)

Hubby and I both tend to be a bit nostalgic when it comes to our preference for buying toys and books. The first thing we bought when we found out I was pregnant was a bunch of books we'd had as children. Currently I am on the hunt for dr seus books and wood toys :).

Here are some of my awesome finds :)

Summer Blog Challenge day 17

*opps I wrote this yesterday and forgot to post!

3 things you are proud of about your personality:

I always find it tough to do the self reflection exercises but this is what I've come up with (in no particular order):

1- My optimism. I've been complimented on this before, I have to say it does come fairly naturally so I'm thankful for it.

2. My laid back nature. I can't say I'm "proud" really but I think it's an asset. It takes a lot to ruffle my feathers :)

3. My ability to forgive. I have forgiven a few people for things most wouldn't (for example my father) but I'd rather forgive and move on. I'll only forgive so many times tho some people take advantage.

There's probably better things I could have come up with but like I said I've never been good at self reflection.

Fathers day

FAIL

Ugh today was awful.
There was lots of crying and screaming and very unhappy baby and daddy.

So hubby decided he wanted a new Lawnmower for fathers day, so he went out and bought it two weeks ago.
I wasn't sure what else to really do for today so I bought a cute card and had MV give it to his daddy (super cute because he's very into holding things lately) after we gave hubby the card we went to Tim Hortons and got him a coffee and donuts. Double chocolate his favourite :)

I had planned on making a delish dinner as well but that never happened.

Around 10am we left for my moms got into her car and went to my grandparents. This was a mistake, but hubby didn't object so I didn't think he cared. I was wrong. Add in a screaming baby on the way home and hubby was left very unhappy with the way the day turned out. on Mothers day we hung out at home and had a quiet peaceful day, apparently hubby had hoped for the same but never told me.

(is it just him or a man thing that causes him to think I can read his mind?)

Ugh in so glad the day is over, after over an hour of ignoring each other when we got home we decided on macdonalds.

At least MV was all cute this morning ...

Summer Blog Challenge day 16

Fitness Guru or Couch Potato?:

In my mind I am a fitness guru.... I search for exciting exercise plans online, I've bought multiple exercise equipment but really at the end of the day I'm a couch potato at heart.

I constantly aspire to change this, my latest excuse is this little man whose now teething and refuses to be put down.

I need some motivation and wanting to look good is not enough, I need a prize or something lol

Summer Blog Challenge day 14

Give your followers 15 tips to get thru life:

1. Smile. People should do this more, it does amazing things for your mood and others.

2. If it doesn't make you happy get rid of it. This can apply to many areas of life. Life's too short to be unhappy.

3. If its broken fix it. Chances are when its fixed you'll enjoy it again. This applies to objects and relationships.

4. Live a healthy life. Be active, and eat healthy. It will shape how you feel about yourself and others will notice.

5. Indulge a little but not too often.

6. Read. It's good for your mind, and will give you something to talk about.

7. Challenge yourself, and if you fail figure out why so you can learn how to succeed.

8. Cherish your family, really get to know them.

9. Be thoughtful and do things for other people that you want done for you. Think what do I want? And give it to someone else.

10. Learn to compromise and negotiate both are key for a lasting relationship.

11. Get over it. There's no point in holding grudges or remaining angry, say your piece and move on. Don't waste anymore time.

12. Make mistakes, but learn from them. It's how we grow. Let your children make mistakes too.

13. Enjoy your life, the grass is not greener. Accept and appreciate what you have, anything more you gain is just a bonus :)

14. Be frugal. aka cheap. Avoid overpaying for anything and avoid consumer debt. There is always a cheaper way.

15. Go outside. Enjoy nature and the fresh air, teach your children to enjoy it too we waste too much time indoors nowadays.

How you see yourself by the end of this year:

A girl can dream ;)

Summer Blog Challenge day 12

*MV has been teething so I've been mia for a bit so today I will catch up*

Worst injury you've had and how it happened:

I've been pretty lucky when it comes to injuries, I am probably the biggest klutz I know. I'm the type of person who walks into walls :s

I've only really had two injuries that could even be considered worst, everything else has been bumps, sprains and bruises.

In grade nine gym class I was walking on a balance beam and following the teachers direction I jumped attempting to land gracefully on the beam. Not so much. When I landed I landed heels first causing them to slide off the beam in opposite directions, I then stuck my hands out to catch myself causing my wrists to absorb most of the impact before slamming my bottom onto the beam. Not only did I sprain both wrists but I also fractured my tailbone. I could not sit normally for almost two years when my hips had finally widened enough to relieve the pressure (side note: after giving birth my tailbone hurt again for three weeks as my hips moved)

Fast forward to grade twelve. While playing defense on a rainy day for our school soccer team, I slid on the wet grass landing in a seated position with the ball between my legs. The team we were playing had a reputation for being unnecessarily aggressive, and three of their players started kicking at me/the ball. I couldn't see who was who but there were feet kicking at my legs and knees, while someone stood on one of my legs and stomped my ankle. Eventually my teammates caught up to us and a brawl erupted but by then I was already curled over trying not to cry from the pain. My ankle was very badly bruised and sprained and my growth plates were broken - because of this my one leg is approximately an inch longer than the other. It's not noticeable but does affect my center of gravity and muscles to be uneven strengths in my hips and back.

Aside from these two injuries I've been lucky, now watch I'm going to go break something now that I've wrote about this ;)

Summer Blog Challenge day 11

Best day of your life:

As easy as this topic is I'm actually a little unsure which day has been the best.

Of course my wedding and MV's birth are among the top two, but how do I pick which is the best?

I feel like as cliche as it is welcoming MV was one of the most amazing moments, but the day leading up to it probably not. That was 18 hours of labor, 12 without an epidural, no sleep, no food, and emergency surgery. Again end result amazing.

The day hubby and I got married on the other hand. Beautiful fall day, eggs Benny for breakfast with the girls, seeing hubby at the end of the isle as I entered the church, the whirlwind ceremony I barely remember (focusing on not passing out), the thrill of being pronounced husband and wife, all our friends and families, our first dance I could go on and on but most special of all was getting a photo of me my mom and my bio dad together. That's something that will never happen again.

So maybe it's not so hard. I just needed to write it out. If this was about the best moment I might be stuck but overall best day I think our wedding day takes the cake ;)

(haha corny I know I blame sleep deprivation)

The 40 Minute Nap

It's only 8:30am and already we've woken, eaten, read a few books, played with toys, swung in the swing and now waking from the 40 minute nap MV has become accustomed to.

Seriously only 40 minutes? I'm exhausted I need longer naps, or someone to teach me how to manage this time better.

I ate my breakfast and as I'm finally about to fall asleep I see these giant blue eyes staring at me.

Maybe the next nap I'll sleep

Famous Art piecr you would have in your home:

Depending who you ask there is speculation that Van Gogh may have been epileptic and that this painting may have been a representation of a type of hallucination seizure he had.

As an epileptic who has had hallucinogenic seizures I believe this theory. There's something familiar about this when I see it, something that makes me feel a connection.

Your worst cooking disaster:

I asked hubby to help me with this one... I could tell by the look on his face there were too many to chose from in his head I'm sure he was thinking something along the lines of "every single time"

However he did remind me of the time I burnt down my aunts kitchen making a pop tart. Yup the whole kitchen was in flames.

Favourite Guilty Pleasure:

This was a tough one since lately I don't have time for much of anything.

But I do have a weakness for celebrity gossip. I won't spend money on it but I have multiple gossip blogs bookmarked on my phone, iPad, iPod and computer.

I used to be bad checking the sites multiple times a day, now I'm lucky if I can check them once a day.

Another weakness is for the sims. Luckily for everyone my computer is too bogged down to support those games right now. I've been playing them since they came out, my mom and sisters too. We used to fight over the computer lol

Kinda lame for a guilty pleasure but I've got nothing else!

Summer Blog Challenge day 6

Nicknames you have & Why you have them:

I have to say that I do not have many people who actually call me by a nickname, most people prefer to use my full name. I'm not entirely sure why but I think it has something to do with the fact my name is more old fashioned, not really that popular (although I've read it's slowly coming back), and not to toot my own horn but it's a more dare I say elegant/beautiful name. At least that's what I've been told ;)

But anyways on to those nicknames I do have.

Skippy - my stepdad used to refer to me as this thru my teenage years, I'm pretty sure it started because of all the classes I skipped in grade nine (3 short of the requirement to pass). he still writes it on my birthday cards.

VV - This one is my initials and I have a couple of work friends who will refer to me as that occasionally.

Vajaj - lol before I was married a friend I worked with called me that and for some reason she and a couple others continue too from time to time.

Jimmy - A childhood friend came up with this when we were pretty young. A group of us thought it would be a good idea to make nicknames using boy names. I was Jimmy lol. Twenty something years later she still calls me that, no one else's names stuck.

Ginniboo - This one I've had my whole life, it was given to me by an aunt who makes up nicknames for everyone. Sometimes she uses parts of our names and other times she just makes up weird words to calls us. In my case mine is part of my name with a twist.

I think that's all of them, this is probably the closest to telling you my actual name I'll get ;)

Summer Blog Challenge day 5

Short term goals for this month:

Hmmm ok so I like lists and I make lists but usually they are for more grand tasks. For example my tabs for projects and 35 before 35. When it comes to making short term goals I never know where to start. I'm known for having multiple projects on the go.

I had to take a look at all my project lists, browse through my pinterest boards and check my note pad in my phone. This is what I came up with...

1. Put finishing touches on MVs nursery so that I can link up at the end of the month.

2. Lay the patio stones in the backyard.

3. Go for a walk at least four times a week all month.

4. Mail out the remaining thank you cards from my baby shower (kinda late)

5. Locate remaining pieces for my diy command center and determine final cost so it can be worked on for July.

6. Start working on MV's baby scrapbook and complete pages up to date.

I think six goals is good enough I don't want to be too ambitious ;) I'm almost done the nursery so that will be easy I can't wait to finally show it off :)

Summer Blog Challenge day 4

Meaning behind your blog name:

Choosing a blog name was one of the more difficult things creatively I've ever done. It was a lot easier to pick out names for me son then to name my blog! I searched the Internet for inspiration typing "how to name your blog" and anything else I thought might help into the search bar. I read through endless pages of song lyrics hoping something would stand out.

When I started my first blog I barely knew what it was going to be about, despite my recent (at the time) miscarriage being a main topic I didn't want it to define me so I came up with the title "My little life" I decided that left the door open to write about anything I wanted. Simple, cute done.

Then it came time to move on from that blog and this one was created. This time I had a better idea of what kind of blog I wanted to be, the kinds of things I wanted to share. "All the Little Things" that made me me, and were part of my life. So this time naming the blog just happened naturally as I evolved.

I still have a long way to go to being that blogger I had envisioned, I tend to be a lazy blogger. There are tons of great ideas for posts that I just haven't found the time to get too. But slowly I'm getting there :)

Bottle strike - small win for momma!

After 45 minutes of crying and screaming I managed to force feed feed MV approximately one ounce of breast milk from a bottle. Small win for me yay!

This game is getting old but I refuse to give up! This kid is getting back on the bottle if it's the death of me yet. Hopefully it won't come to that but I'm committed. I want to start giving a bottle before bed so that I know he's full and just maybe we can make some more progress with sleeping.

Speaking of sleeping, guess who currently is napping in his pack and play?! Yup two wins for me :)

I'll be back later to do my challenge post for the day, right now I need to do some dreaded housework...

Summer Blog Challenge day 3

List 15 interesting facts about yourself:

1. I'm allergic to spinach. No joke that sh*t will kill me! And I've discovered it's an ingredient in almost everything :(

2. I have an obsession with teeth. It's one of the first things I notice about someone, and heavily impacts my first impression of them. My teeth are not perfect either.

3. I met my biological father and half sisters for the first time when I was 24.

4. It wasn't until I met my dad that I found out I'm actually of aboriginal descent. I'm in the process of getting my native status.

5. I have two tattoos, a star on the back of my neck and a floral design on my lower back. If I had the money I would have a couple more already.

6. I married my husband after 7 years of dating. When we first got together he was sorta a rebound fling.

7. I have two middle names. One of which I share with my mother, grandmother and at least one of my cousins. If I ever have a daughter she will have that name too.

8. Scary movies give me nightmares, really terrifying nightmares. Because of this I do not watch movies that involve zombies, monsters or any sort, or murders.

7. I am a really fast reader and love books. Real books with pages made of paper, none of this e reader crap for me. I even love the smell of a new book.

8. I have had my hair dyed practically every natural shade available from jet black to bleach blonde and everything in between.

9. I am naturally right handed, but can use my left hand almost as well. My grandfather is a lefty and there are a lot of things he taught me I do left.

10. I have eaten the following exotic meats: rattlesnake, crocodile, shark and ostrich.

11. I have one half brother, two half sisters and three stepsisters. I am the oldest.

12. I have a very small amount of hearing loss in one of my ears, I blame me being tone deaf on this and should never be allowed to sing for anyone

13. I love egg rolls

14. One of my biggest pet peeves is loud breathing.

15. I have a few OCD tendencies; I sometimes catch myself repeating something I've said, I prefer even numbers and multiples of ten, when I colour code things with highlighters it must be consistent. There's more but I won't list them all, I think my tendencies are a result of growing up with two stepsister who have clinically diagnosed OCD.

Wow 15 things that wasn't too bad!

Summer Blog Challenge days 1&2

I came across this blog challenge today and Ive decided to give it a try!

Today is day 3 so I have too catch up. Also I'm on my phone so tomorrow I'll have to come back to add the link :)

So here we go!

Day 1: Why I'm doing this challenge.

I suck at blogging. There's no other way to say it, I have all these ideas that never happen so I'm hoping this challenge will get my butt in gear! Also I try really hard not to talk baby all the time but really don't know what else to talk about. And who knows maybe I'll find some new blogs to read through the link up :)

Day 2: a picture of yourself smiling.

3 Months

Holy moly my lil baby boy is officially no longer a newborn; I have an infant!
I seriously feel like time is going too fast yet too slow all at the same time...I'm not really sure how to explain that one...

Anyhow, MV offically turned 3 months last week and here are the latest stats:

Weight
My chunky monkey now weighs a whopping 14lbs! You should see his thunder thighs! LOL

Length
I think this might be off but it appears MV only grew half an inch this month. According to our measuring he is 45 inches long.

Hair/Eyes
Not too much has changed here, his hair is getting a little thicker, some days it looks darker than others.Eyes are still light blue with a darker outer ring.

Clothing size
Sadly more clothes have been packed away yet again :( were pretty much finished with the 3 month sizes, except for a couple pairs of pants. Shirts are now 3-6 months and footy sleepers are six months (which are too wide but almost the perfect length).

Diapers
Size 2 and dare I say on the verge of size 3?! I feel like the size twos were short lived but thunder thighs needs a little more leg room so I can see us switching sometime this month. Oh and we are officially Huggies fans all the way ;)

Sleep
Each night we start with a longer stretch of sleep that can range from 2-4 sometimes 5 hours if I'm lucky. Once that initial stretch is over we sleep in 2 hour intervals. MV is still very good at falling right back to sleep while nursing which helps me not feel so sleep deprived. Naps are still wherever and whenever, lately they've been happening on the boppy pillow.

Eating
Nothing new here, exclusively breastfeeding, our bottle strike continues. Not sure if I mentioned that but in April we stopped using bottles due to latching problems, well fast forward a month and try to bring back the bottles. NOPE. I refuse to spend any more money on bottles, and I'm sick of wasting breast milk in our daily attempts to reintroduce the bottle.

New Developments
We had one back to belly roll (off the couch onto the ottoman. Go ahead tell me I'm horrible I swear it won't happen again, no one was hurt) Lots of attempts to roll belly to back but no success so far.

MV is a full fledge thumb sucker, its more of a smacking noise actually

Teething is causing some pain. :(

MV has found his feet. He hasn't been able to grab on for too long yet but he's trying.

He is trying to "talk" non stop. He barely is quiet anymore. Oh and he's figured out how to flirt lol

The baby in the mirror is now our friend lol MV loves talking to his reflection.

Other

I am still doing lots of laundry due to all the puke. Hopefully he grows out of this soon, I'm considering starting cereal next month to see if it helps.

The ultrasound last month came back clear so we are dealing with reflux and possibly a milk protein sensitivity. I don't think it's an allergy because sometimes dairy doesn't bother him.

I bought a hazel wood and amber necklace to see if it can help with the reflux and teething discomforts.

We've been going for daily walks, it appears I have a bit of a nature boy, he loves being outside!

I hope to start going to some mommy baby groups this month and get MV used to being around other babies and kids

Temperament = firey. We have a very short tempered impatient little boy here. Happy go lucky most of the time but whoa watch out if you make him wait for something, I foresee a lot of temper tantrums in the future.

He LOvES the bath. He has from the start but he really loves it now that he kicks and plays in the water. Recently we discovered he loves showers too.

He also loves being naked ;)

He is showing some preference for certain toys. Faves right now include a little bug with crinkly wings, his zebra pacimal, and Sophie the giraffe chewing toy. Oh and he loves laying in his crib talking to his mobile.

I think that is all! :)
And of course a few pictures from this month :)
