This love

Life has been for lack of a better word busy lately.

We have our good days and bad. Two steps forward and the occasional step back.

I'm trying my best to do a good job at this mothering thing. I feel like it's natural to have insecurities and doubts, we are not perfect.

But then on days like this, when a moment like this is captured it really goes to show how well we are doing.

Two little babies, 5 1/2 months and 26 months old embracing each other unprompted by anyone.
This is true love.
No one told them to love each other, no one taught them what love even means. They just love.

Having my babies so close together has been extremely difficult on me; and difficult on my marriage. We are battling with the "terrible twos" as well as post partum depression. But I wouldn't change it for the world. And if I could only be given one wish it would be for my boys to keep this love strong between them. They are in this together. <3

Apples, Pumpkins and a Corn maze

I love Fall. Capital L O V E it.

Hands down my favourite season.
I love the sunny weather with the cool crisp breeze and the way the air smells.
I love the colours of the leaves and how gorgeous everything looks.
And the food. Fall means soups and hot meals and of course thanksgiving.
I pretty much love everything about the season.

I hope my kiddos grow up to love it as much as I do :)

Today Hubby and I took Mav for our first little family fall adventure. Being parents is great for reliving all those fun things you did as a kid. I honestly can't remember the last time I went apple picking or picked a pumpkin straight from the patch. These are things I hope we make a yearly thing. We attempted to go to a pumpkin patch last year but they were closed when we got there and we improvised with a little photo session instead. This year was the real deal, tractor ride and all.

Despite his facial expression Mav had a great time lol I think he was focused on something here. Practically impossible to get him to look right at the camera with so much else going on.

We went back to the same farm we went berry picking at this summer. One of the main reasons we chose to return was for the tractor. Mav really loved it last time and I couldn't confirm any of the other orchards had one.

We sat right up front to get the best view

Apple picking was first on our agenda, Mav figured out what to do pretty quick and luckily the trees were nice and low to the ground :)

Naturally he sampled some lol

We picked out four pumpkins for our little family. Mav even helped pick and gather them. It was so cute watching him try to pick then up. You can barely see it but he's still holding onto his apple lol at one point he was holding his apple in his teeth attempting to pick up one of the larger pumpkins.

After we picked our stash we waited for the tractor to come back and get us. Still working on that apple lol must have been good.

We finished off by attempting the corn maze... It was tough! We made it out which I feel counts as a success .. Even if the way out we took was labelled emergency exit and not the exit we were supposed to find. By the time we found it I didn't care I had a toddler and husband both getting cranky! We probably won't attempt the maze again for a few years lol

It was an exhausting afternoon, but tons if fun :)

Family Reunion / Weekend recap

I am exhausted. Physically and mentally drained from the weekend. I barely sat down all Saturday or Sunday and sleep was also lacking.
But we had fun and that's all that matters. Blogging was out of the question so I will have to check the prompt list for the challenge and see if I'm feeling up to catching up, and I still haven't finished MV's 5 month post lol
I've got some blogging to do!

So what was I doing? Well incase you didn't read the title I was at hubby's family reunion! His family is Italian and very large, were not just talking first cousins here this year was a small turnout at approximately 90-100 people.
There is a committee that plans it (hubby and I are on the committe) and we charge a cover fee for the weekend of $35 to cover food and misc costs such as kitchen help and servers, rental equipment etc. We also designed some family shirts and hats again this year and those were an additional $10 each. If there is any extra money it goes into an account for next years bill (this happens annually unless there is a wedding).

It was crazy hot outside this weekend, even with thundershowers Sunday briefly the humidity was intense. MV was very well behaved considering he was outside almost the whole time. the host usually doesn't let people into the house but Lyns and I were given special privileges because of the babies.

MV did a lot of socializing, everyone of course loved him ;) I was able to get some really great pictures of him with his grandpa and his big Nonna (great grandma). He had his own specially made onesie to wear it was too cute!

So our weekend went a bit like this:
Saturday registration (sign in and pay) at 10am, first round of Bocce at 11am, lunch at 12:30, more rounds of Bocce until dinner at 5:30pm, fireworks competition at 8:30pm.
Sunday sign in, coffee and snacks at 10am, wait for the rain to stop, bocce quarter finals at 11:30, lunch at 12:30, semi finals, finals and championship game all afternoon, dinner at 5:30, rewards at 6:30, socializing and goodbyes leaving by 8pm.

I played my best bocce ever, my partner and I were undefeated our first day with a 4-0 record, but were knocked out day two with a final record of 5-1 which earned us the most valuable player(s) award :). MV also won an award for being the youngest player which he accepted ever so cutely and then proceeded to put his certificate in his mouth lol

So today I did nothing, just entertained MV and slept as much as we could :) tomorrow will be back to reality with cleaning and grocery shopping etc. I have a ton of blogs to read and possibly write myself.

So on that note I should get some sleep! Here are a couple cute pictures from the weekend <3

Big Boys

MV will be 5 months next week,
Baby N will be 7 months next week

Today they were big boys and sat in the shopping cart at Costco :)

Lyns (N's momma) and I decided to see if they could stay upright, the straps held them pretty good, MV can't sit on his own so the straps were very helpful.

Everyone was either talking about these two or stopping to coo to them.

The boys are becoming a lot more interactive with each other (soo cute) and while in the cart they would each occasionally reach over to the other one just to touch them or hold a random body part (with the occasional eye poke).

Tomorrow is another big boy day for MV it is his baptism :) the party tent is set up in the yard already for the after party and now it's time to get some sleep so I am well rested for tomorrow

Night!
