This love

Life has been for lack of a better word busy lately.

We have our good days and bad. Two steps forward and the occasional step back.

I'm trying my best to do a good job at this mothering thing. I feel like it's natural to have insecurities and doubts, we are not perfect.

But then on days like this, when a moment like this is captured it really goes to show how well we are doing.

Two little babies, 5 1/2 months and 26 months old embracing each other unprompted by anyone.
This is true love.
No one told them to love each other, no one taught them what love even means. They just love.

Having my babies so close together has been extremely difficult on me; and difficult on my marriage. We are battling with the "terrible twos" as well as post partum depression. But I wouldn't change it for the world. And if I could only be given one wish it would be for my boys to keep this love strong between them. They are in this together. <3

Hey Monday!

Everyone else is all like

And I'm over here all like

I realized today that I love Mondays. Strange? Maybe. I'm sure I'm in a minority with that one, but really weekends have never really been "weekends" for me anyways. I have a career that will more than likely have me working weekends until I retire. An even now with me being on Maternity leave weekends just mean disruption to routine and loud and busy.

I look forward to Mondays. I enjoy waking up and hubby's side of the bed being empty. I take my time and get the kids fed and ready and by 9-9:30 Mav is at daycare and Ty and I are on our own.

I get quiet; a peaceful day to do my own thing. For instance this lovely Monday I am sitting here enjoying a nice breakfast out. Just myself and Ty (who is sleeping thru it all)

After this I am going to go home and resume some spring cleaning. Not really exciting but it's hard to do with a baby and toddler to tend to, and then add hubby into the mix and his presence throws everything off. (Love him really but he gets in the way)

And later I may even take a nap :)

Happy Monday!

Two

My first baby turned two a few weeks ago. All grown up. When we brought Ty home Mav seemed so much bigger right away, now that he's two he's practically an adult!

That may be extreme but he's growing so fast these days! We're talking do everything yourself, speaking mini sentences fast.

My dear sweet Mav,

Your still Momma's boy at heart and we still have plenty of snuggles but you now adore your daddy just as much. You try to be just like him including copying his body language, keeping your hat with his and "helping" him with things around the house. On the weekends mommy gets a sleep in day and daddy gets up with you. I'm usually wide awake and listening to you and your daddy, it just melts my heart.

You look just like him. You smile like mommy, with your squinty eyes and you have my forehead but that's pretty much all that's left of me these days. Sorry about that by the way.

This year has been a big one for you.

You started daycare and you love it. You ask to go there almost daily. You love to play with all the other kids and have your very first best friend Noah (not counting Nate because he's family). I'm sure part of why you are so smart is because of all the great things you do and learn there. You know your colours, can almost count to 10 (you usually skip 5 and 7) and you know some of the alphabet already.

You became a big brother a few months ago. I never knew a 20 month old toddler could have so much pride and natural nurturing instinct like you immediately did. Sure you were jealous but you've loved your brother from the moment you met him, you share your toys and try to help him when he needs anything. You are very rarely jealous these day and have taken a very protective role when we are around other people.

During your first year you had stitches, and during your second you fractured your first bone. You collar bone to be exact. And ya I said "first" because as much as I hate the idea I'm sure it's not the last. You are such a wild man, you have no fear when it comes to doing things. You scaled a six foot ladder right to the top, you climb and jump and run everywhere. We have been seeing an allergist for your mysterious reactions you have been having. So far it is looking like you have some sort of sensitivity with no specific trigger. Hopefully whatever it is you grow out of it fast.

You are speaking fairly, you have quite a large vocabulary and use it appropriately as well as in mini sentences, but you do still have trouble expressing your emotions. You tend to be a bit emotional. There are days where you cry and whine so much that mommy wants everyone to just go back to bed. Terrible twos are in full swing. But Mommy loves you anyways.

You are stubborn and independent; loving and protective; free spirited and hot tempered. You love animals, your friends and your family fiercely. Your favourite shows include Dora, and Diego. Favourite foods are any types of fruit. You could eat berries all day.

If the last few months are any indication I think this year will be full of all sorts of new challenges, you will probably be testing mommy and daddy's wits to the breaking point but we will be sure to have lots of fun in the process.

Mommy and Daddy love you more than the world itself.

Hello...

Hello, my name is Virginia and I am a binge eater.

Today I came to this conclusion.

It is a wonder I am not larger than I am. Seriously. I ate half the container of bite size brownies today and the only reason I stopped myself from eating them all was so that my husband didn't get pissed that he didn't have any. And ya he noticed the missing ones.

I can't help it. It started with one, then two more, then a couple after that and so on and so forth. My gut is feeling quite gross from all of the chocolate and even feeling this way I still ate a few more. I have no control at all.

I've been doing so well lately, I've been going to a mom and baby exercise class once a week and cut out fast foods. That alone had made a huge difference, but then the class is on break until April and things went  down hill. I've started slacking big time. I was so excited and even motivated by the progress I had made and I caved.

This isn't the first time, I have a history of doing this. I blame my mom (partial joke). Honestly growing up we never had junk food so whenever I could get some I always overdid myself. My brother savoured a chocolate bar all week, not me I ate it immediately. I can't.  Even tho I can eat junk whenever I want I still do it.

So I am putting it out there. Here's my truth. I own it. I've "secretly" been working on some fitness goals but I'm struggling so I will put that out there too. I've been noticing more and more fitness type blogs lately and starting reading along for motivation.

And no this isnt going to turn into another fitness blog, but it's my life blog. And this is part of it just like my kids and my past I plan on keeping track of it here too.

So there it is. My confession, my secret and my plans to change.
But for now I plan to sleep.
Sweet dreams.

I want to punch them all in the face

Ok not literally. I'm not a physical person, and I most definitely do not beat my children but today my whole family is driving me to the edge of insanity.

Hubby woke in a bad mood. Who the eff knows why. He's picking fights every two seconds so doing my best to ignore him.

Ty slept horribly last night which means I did not sleep. Of course he's not napping so far and fussy as well. Oh ya and screaming.

Mav has seemed to forgotten all English words and is whining and crying and throwing fits every two seconds.

I am so tired and frustrated right now. I seriously need to just have some space but there's no where to go. Hence the urge to go punching people. Again don't worry I won't actually punch anyone.

Days like today would be dry beneficial to have some help from family. For now I may just lock Mav in his room while I go shower for few hours....

"My Baby"

Mav to hubby "my baby!" As he protectively stands between them.

Hubby " no. He's my baby, he's your brother"

Mav "no. My baby" "mine"

Hubby "no. He's mine. I'm the daddy"

This continues back an forth a bit

Hubby "he's mine I made him with my penis!"

Mav "me! My penis! My baby!"

Great just great my kid said penis.

ugh

Seriously what happened to my blog? Ya I was playing around with the backgrounds but it currently does not look anything like I was doing... And now I want to fix it but hubby is using the laptop to stream netflixs.

so annoying
