Hello and happy weekend :)
Quick up date:
- MV is 7 months old as of last Wednesday! I started his post but didn't get to finish it yet.
- We are away visiting the in laws in Niagara, I don't have much Internet access and I'm trying not to use up my phone data but I will post when in home.
- MV and I spent the last week or so sick with pretty bad colds but we finally are better. So sad to see MV like that :(
And I think that's all I'm going to say so that I have things to post about :)
Be back in a few days!

Beaver tail Fail
Have you ever had a beavertail?
No? Me either.
Yes? Did you love it? Everyone says they loved it.
Do they have Beavertails in the states? I guess if they don't then most of my followers don't even have a clue what I'm talking about. In case your even daring to think I'm talking about that fuzzy flat tailed creature your wrong.
That would be gross.
lol
I'm talking about pastry. Look it up, apparently they are delicious. I wouldn't know because I've never had one, I had planned on it today but the jerks weren't open like they said they were going to be.
They come in many flavors.
Growing up someone told me they were real deep fried beaver tails... I was gullible ... I believed it and so I've never had one. Even tho I've known for a long ti,e it's just pastry I've always been grossed out lol.
So the beaver tail people (whoever they are that sell them) travel around and set up shop short term. Right now they are set up downtown at the Fall Fair.
You pay $7 to get into the fairbecause they are crooks, which I paid only to find out the beaver tail people were closed! WTH!
Not impressed.
So since we had already paid and were already there, MV and I decided to cruise the fair, see the animals and play some games. We would have gone on a few rides too if we had someone else with us to take pictures.
I may just have to convince hubby to take us again this weekend.
MV played 2 games.
The first was a duck pond game where you just grab and duck and the number written on the bottom determined the size of your prize. We were just watching the ducks go buy when the attendant offered to cause a duck jam so MV could grab one. It was real sweet of her so I agreed and he won a tiny toy (I'm sure 95% of them had that size on them).
Next stop was a fishing game. I had to hold the pole for him but he grabbed ahold too so I had the attendant take a picture. Again we got a tiny toy.
MV was in good spirits despite his poor teeth :( number 3 has cut the gums and number 4 is expected any minute.
So what do I do when I'm feeling crappy? Why have a bubble bath of course!
MV has been introduced to the bubble bath and loves it! No toys needed!
Hope every has a good weekend!

MIL rant
I always felt very fortunate to be able to say I liked my mother in law, and that we got along great.
Mind you she does live 4 hours away and I only see her for a couple hours at a time, a couple times a year.
Then I had MV....
I still "like" her... But almost everything she does bothers me now.
She is obsessed with my baby. Not just proud grandma but obsessed. Even my brother in law thinks so (he lived with her until a month ago).
In my head I often finds self screaming "HE'S MY BABY! NOT YOURS!!"
She comments that I spoil him because I chose to comfort him when he cries as opposed to letting the kid turn bright cherry red and scream his lungs out.
She insists on comparing him to her family only. Neither myself or my family exist. If he didn't get it from hubby he got it from her...
Which leads me to this.
He looks nothing like her but yet she keeps doing this with photos she's "stolen" from me.
I could go on about everything that bothers me but these pictures really tick me off

Daydreaming
I seriously think I may have a Pinterest addiction.
I use the app on my phone so whenever MV feeds I tend to find myself browsing and dreaming of all the wonderful things that could be.
Things like these that would be so wonderful if they were in/around my home ...

Another Tooth! ... and a free printable ;)
MV has another tooth!
Last night was bad/ very very horrendously bad.
MV woke repeatedly, to be more exact each time I would put him down.
So I barely slept. And was an irritable zombie today. And of course MV catnaps so I couldn't even get a decent nap in today.
Fingers crossed tonight is better.
Now that he has another tooth (the top incisor directly above his bottom tooth) I decided I needed to find a cute way to track them for his baby book.
I came across this one here , I saw it pinned on Pinterest. Super cute.
She has another version of this in green, its slightly different but same idea. I had a really hard time deciding which I liked.
And its a free printable so I thought I would share :)

Pears
Today MV tried pears....
The nicely pureed pears I slaved in the kitchen to make (not really I have the baby bullet) he was not a fan of.
MY pear that I was eating, well it was a big hit. In the end I forfeited my pear, a girl can only share so much before there's just too much slobber.

Nursery Signs & a Tooth!
I've been meaning to post all week but between teething and working on a few projects I've been pretty busy :)
MV's tooth officially broke thru enough to mark it on the calendar this past weekend!
I have a feeling there are a couple more just waiting to pop thru....
Here is one of my more recent projects....
I've known since I began planning the nursery (while pregnant) that I wanted some of those inspirational quote subway signs. You can find them all over Pinterest, and Etsy has a few different sellers as well; however I have a thing about buying things I'm capable of making. I don't do it.
So I started with Pinterest, and came across several different ways to do it yourself for these signs. You can find the tutorial's I reviewed here , and here ,and here , and here.
In the end I opted for using stencils on Canvas. I purchased each canvas from the Dollarama for $2 each, the stencils were on clearance at Michaels for less than $5 and the paint was all left over from painting MVs room.
It took me some time to stencil the words on and try to make them as straight as possible I realize they are not perfectly straight but Im ok with it.
Deciding what to put on the signs was a little intimidating. There are so many options when it comes to nursery rhymes and songs. In the end I decided on Twinkle Twinkle because I like that song, I also wanted to have something with the alphabet and came across this sign here, the middle sign was found here.
I hope to eventually get good enough at freehand painting to stop using the stencils but for now I am stocking up and making a few more for Christmas presents :)
Hopefully I will have more pictures to post soon!

When?
When does it count?
It's quarter after six in the morning and I'm rocking MV because the poor goober has woken EVERY hour all night long.
So it's got me thinking, when can I officially say he has a tooth? Does it need to be all out there? Or as soon as the gum is split and the pearly white can be felt? Or maybe somewhere in between like when it resembles a tooth but still has growing to do?
Honestly this is a way longer process than my pre parent self ever thought. I. Assumed he would be fussy for an undetermined but not too long length of time, and then one day a tooth would be there standing tall and proud.
...
Not so much. This poor kid has been obviously teething since just he was three months old. Tons and I mean tons of drool, some drool induced pukes (which are disgusting and chunky), sporadic pure rage fits while pulling forcefully on his gums and tons of squeaky finger chewing.
Oh and nothing helps. We've tried teething rings, washcloths, Sophie the giraffe, Tylenol, Advil, pumkin butt organic teething oil, amber necklace, hazel wood necklace and probably more.
So back to my original question that prompted this half awake post.
When can I say he has a tooth? Currently our status is all of the above behaviors and upon visual examination you can see (if he doesn't get that goofy tongue in the way) that the gum has split and the beginnings of a pearly white is poking thru. If you touch it then you most definitely can feel the sharp hard tip. But to me I don't feel he HAS a tooth yet, what do I put in his baby book?
All the pressure of that darn baby book. LoL
Ohh and that reminds me, speaking of when does it count; how many "steps" does he have to take to say he can crawl? Cause were very close to that too :)

6 Months
My lil baby is half a year old :'( :)
MV turned 6 months on August 26th, Here are his six month stats.
Weight
17.5lbs
Length
28inches
Hair and Eyes
His hair is getting longer, it was windy the other day and some pieces of hair were flowing in the wind lol
Clothing Size
9 month full length sleepers, 3 month shorts, 3-6 month onesies and shirts, and 6-9 month pants. Seriously could he be more all over the place? Seriously dreading when people ask what size he's in right now!
Diapers
Size 3 :)
Sleep
We had a bit of a sleep regression, and a few more great nights with 6-8 hour stretches but the norm seems to be 1 sometimes 2 feeds overnight.
Eating
Breastfeeding every 2-3 hours, and one meal of cereal a day. MV is not a fan of the rice cereal so we have been trying oatmeal as well.
New Developments
We made the switch to his big boy car seat. The little carrier seat was getting too heavy so now it's used as a secondary seat for when we go out in someone else's car.
Lots of thumb sucking happening.
Loves to slap everything with his hands.
Sitting independently.
Lots of swim like motions during tummy time lol little man wants to move so bad! He has figured out how to do push ups but doesn't know to lift his little butt lol
MV went to his first petting zoo (didn't touch the animals) and had his first pony ride.
Experienced painting for the first time.
